Floristry Diploma / Certification

Tara began her career in floristry at just 14 years old with part-time work in one of the longest established florists in Waterford. With a course in craft and design and a stint in Limerick College of Art and Design, Tara returned to floristry having decided this was the direction she would like her career to go in. After 18 years perfecting her craft and winning numerous awards for her floristry she decided to study with the Society of Floristry and obtain her certificate in floristry. Successfully completing this Tara decided to immediately undertake the daunting task of studying for her Diploma in Floristry. When she passed this in 2007 she joined the ranks of only twenty who have achieved this level in Ireland in the past 25 years. Having achieved this diploma has opened so many new doors for Tara, she is now in demand as a freelance florist, demonstrator and currently teaches night classes in the Abbey Community College in Ferrybank which she thoroughly enjoys.

Wedding Flowers

After being approached by several local brides to design flowers for their special day interest began to grow. Tara then realised the demand for her services as a floristry-wedding specialist. Bridal Bouquet Advice

The most important advice Tara gives to a bride to be is
  • To have your wedding dress purchased and bridesmaid’s colours decided on before consultation.
  • Keep clippings from wedding magazines of bouquet styles that catch your eye and from this we can design your perfect bouquet.
  • Find out if there are any restrictions on church displays.
  • Consult with the wedding co-ordinator at the reception venue to see what is included in your package.
  • Have a rough budget of what you expect to spend on flowers -all budgets are catered for.
